Product details
Part 140073474011 is a genuine Electrolux heated damper assembly for Electrolux group fridges. The damper controls how much cold air passes from the freezer side into the fresh food compartment, and its heater stops it freezing up. We don't have models on file for this damper, so check the parts list for your fridge's model and PNC, or the label on the old damper, for 140073474011 before ordering.
Fridge too warm or freezing food? Check the damper
Many frost free fridges cool the fresh food section with air borrowed from the freezer, and a damper flap opens and closes to regulate that flow. A heater on the damper stops ice and condensation locking the flap in place. If the damper sticks open, food in the fridge can freeze. If it sticks shut, or the heater fails and ice builds up, the fresh food side goes warm while the freezer stays cold. A damper that clicks repeatedly or never moves is also suspect.

Replacing the damper assembly
Switch the fridge off at the wall and unplug it. Remove food and shelves as needed to reach the air duct cover, which is usually on the back wall of the fresh food section. Let any ice thaw naturally. Photograph the wiring plug and the damper's position in the duct, fit the new assembly the same way with any foam seals sitting flat, then let the fridge run overnight before checking temperatures.
Questions about this part
How can I tell if the damper is the problem?
With the freezer cold and the compressor running, feel for cold air from the vent in the fresh food section. If little or none comes through and there's no ice blocking the duct, the damper or its control is a likely cause.
