Ice maker housing cracked or leaking?
The housing holds the ice maker in position, directs water and ice where they should go, and in some designs helps channel cold air around the mould. Cracked housings can leak water that freezes into a sheet below the ice maker, let ice jam, or allow the ice maker to sit out of line so it stops harvesting properly. Broken mounting tabs are common after ice jams or rough removal. If the ice maker itself isn't filling or ejecting, the fault may lie with the ice maker unit or water valve instead.

Fitting the housing
Unplug the fridge and turn off the water supply to it. Empty the ice bucket and let any ice in the area thaw so nothing is forced. Take photos of the wiring and water connections, release the ice maker and transfer it to the new housing. Refit, restore water and power, and allow time for the first batch of ice.
