Signs the dryer front seal is worn
The front gasket lines the door opening on the front panel and seals that area while the drum turns. Its job is to keep warm, damp air and lint moving through the dryer's airflow path and filter instead of leaking out around the door. When it flattens, splits or comes away, lint collects around the opening and behind the panel, small items can slip into gaps, and loads take longer to dry because air is lost. Visible tears, loose sections or fluff building up around the door rim are the usual clues.

Fitting a dryer front gasket
