Product details
Joining 5/16 inch tubing to 1/4 inch tubing, 140063760015 is a genuine Electrolux connector with a built-in check valve. It sits among Electrolux fridge water and ice maker parts, where a check valve lets water flow one way only. No model list is on file. Check the tube sizes and the part number on your old fitting before ordering, as plumbed fridges use several similar connectors.
Leaks and backflow at a fridge water connector
Fridges with a water dispenser or ice maker are plumbed to the house supply through small plastic tubing and fittings. A check valve is a one way valve that stops water draining back out of the fridge lines or being pushed back towards the supply. When the valve sticks or its seals fail, you may notice drips at the joint, water pooling behind or under the fridge, a dispenser that dribbles after use, or slow flow. A cracked connector body from overtightening or a knock causes leaks too.

Replacing the connector
Turn off the water tap feeding the fridge and unplug it before you start. Have a towel ready for water left in the lines. Note which way the flow arrow or valve faces on the old connector, as a check valve only works one way. If the tubing ends are damaged, trim them square, and make sure each tube is fully seated. Turn the water on slowly and check for drips over the next hour.
Questions about this part
Which way round does the check valve go?
Water must flow from the supply towards the fridge. Most check valves have an arrow on the body showing the direction of flow. Fit the new one the same way round as the old connector, or water won't get through.
