Fitting a soft close hinge
Turn the oven off and wait until it is completely cool. Open the door fully and lock the hinge with its catch or clip so the spring can't snap shut, then lift the door off. Keep hands clear of the hinge while it is under tension. Fit the new hinge, refit the door, release the locks and check the door closes softly and evenly.
