Oven door falling open or not sealing
Oven hinges do a lot of work. Every time the door opens, the hinge spring takes the weight, and when it closes the spring draws the door tight against the seal. As the spring tires or the pivot wears, the door starts to drop with a thump, hang open a few centimetres, or close on an angle. Heat then leaks out at the top, the knobs and fascia get hot, and cooking times creep up. A hinge bent by someone leaning on the open door shows the same signs.

Swapping oven door hinges
With the oven off at the isolator and cool, open the door fully and lock both hinges with their clips or levers. Lift the door up and off, then remove the hinge fixings in the oven frame. Some models need the side trim off to reach them. Fit the new hinge, rehang the door and release the locks. Doing both sides at once gives an even close.
