It's the part you'd order when the top surface is cracked, chipped or badly damaged. Electrolux makes several cooking top assemblies and glass tops under nearby numbers, each tied to particular models, so match 140057821500 to your parts list before ordering.

Cracked or damaged cooktop top? What replacement involves

The cooking top is the surface your pans sit on, and on most modern cooktops it also carries the cut-outs or markings for each burner or zone. A crack, deep chip or impact damage is more than cosmetic. On a glass or ceramic surface, spills can seep through to the electronics or elements underneath, and on gas models a damaged top can affect how burners seat. Act on a visible crack, a corner lifting from the frame or a gap opening along the edge seal.

Part details

Genuine Electrolux part 140057821500

90cm cooking top assembly

Large item, confirm against your parts list

Width

90cm

Who should fit a cooktop top

Isolate the cooktop at the switchboard and turn off the gas supply if it's a gas model. Cooktops are usually hard-wired, so the job needs a licensed electrician, and any gas connection must be handled by a licensed gas fitter. Stop using a cracked cooktop until it's repaired.
