AEG oven door seal worn or leaking heat
The seal fitted around the oven cavity is what the door closes against. It holds heat and moisture inside so the oven heats evenly and the controls and cabinetry around it stay cool. This version is for non-pyrolytic ovens, which don't run the very high temperature self-clean cycle. Seals deteriorate with heat and cleaning, going brittle, flattening or tearing, and their fixing hooks can break. Look for heat or steam escaping around the door, longer cooking times, uneven browning or a seal that has dropped out at a corner.

Fitting the AEG door seal
Turn the oven off and let it cool completely before you start. Open the door fully for access to the cavity front. Pull the old seal out gently, noting where its hooks sit and where the ends meet. Starting at the top, press the hooks of the new seal into the same holes, working evenly around the opening without stretching the seal. Close the door and check for an even fit.

No. This seal is the non-pyrolytic version and is listed for the AEG ovens on this page. Pyrolytic ovens reach much higher temperatures during cleaning and use a seal made for that. Check your model number before ordering.
