Broken oven door trim or rattling glass
The upper trim caps the top edge of the oven door, closing off the gap between the outer glass and the inner panels, and its vent slots let air move through the door. The trim can crack or warp from heat, or break when the door is cleaned or the glass is taken out. A damaged trim leaves the top of the door looking untidy, can let the glass shift and rattle, and lets grease and crumbs fall inside the door. If the clips have snapped, the trim usually won't stay in place.

Changing the door trim
Make sure the oven is off and cold. On many models the door lifts off its hinges once the hinge locks are flipped open, which lets you work on a bench. Remove the screws holding the trim at the top or sides of the door, ease it off, and note how the glass sits. Fit the new trim, refit the screws without overtightening, and rehang the door.
