Product details
This is the genuine 2-way water inlet valve, part 140024774014, for plumbed Westinghouse and Electrolux fridges. It is also listed as A02477401. Westinghouse models on file are the WHE6060SB, WQE6060SB and WQE6060BB, and on the Electrolux side it suits the EHE5267SB-D and EQE5657BA. The valve sits at the back of the fridge where the mains water line connects.
Fridge water dispenser not working or valve leaking?
Fridges with a plumbed water supply rely on an electric inlet valve to control the flow. When you use the dispenser, or when an ice maker on models that have one calls for water, the control energises the valve and it opens to let water through. The 2-way design splits the supply between two outlets. A failed valve can stop water flowing, deliver only a trickle, buzz or hum loudly, or leak and keep dripping after it should have closed. Low water pressure or a blocked water filter can cause similar symptoms, so check those first.

Replacing the water valve
Switch the fridge off at the wall and turn off the water at the isolating tap. Pull the fridge out, then remove the rear cover over the valve. Photograph the wiring and water lines before disconnecting them, and keep a towel handy for drips. Fit the new valve, push each line fully into its fitting, turn the water back on and check for leaks before refitting the cover.
Questions about this part
Can I fit the valve myself?
If you're comfortable working on the back of the fridge, it's a manageable job with the power and water turned off. Make sure each water line is fully seated in its fitting to avoid leaks, and check the connections again after the first day of use.
