Why the oven door top cap matters
Air moves up between the door glass panes and leaves through the vent in this top cap, which helps keep the outer glass and handle cooler. Fitting the top cap
Make sure the oven is off and cold. The job is easier with the door removed and laid flat on a towel. Undo the screws or release the clips holding the old cap, keeping track of any glass panels that come loose, then fit the new cap and refit the door, checking it closes neatly.
