Cooktop zone stuck on high or outer ring not working

An energy regulator controls heat by switching the element on and off in cycles, with longer on times at higher knob settings. Fitting a cooktop energy regulator

Cooktops are normally hard-wired, so isolate the circuit at the switchboard and have a licensed electrician fit the regulator. Photograph and label every wire before removing the old switch, as the terminal layout must be matched exactly.
