Product details

140010465049 is a genuine Electrolux left hand auto closer bearing for TF series fridges, in the SL version. The bearing sits at the door hinge and has a shaped cam that helps pull the door closed over the last part of its swing. A white version of this bearing has a different number, and right hand versions exist too, so match the side, the finish and the number before you order.

Fridge door not closing on its own?

Fridge doors on these models don't rely on the seal alone to stay shut. The auto closer bearing works with the hinge pin so the door rides down a ramp and swings home by itself when it's nearly closed. Once the cam wears or cracks, the door can drift open, stay ajar after someone walks away, or sit unevenly against the cabinet. That leads to warm temperatures, condensation, frost in the freezer and a door alarm if one is fitted. A worn bearing can also make the door squeak or feel loose on its hinge.

Replacing the auto closer bearing

Empty the door shelves so the door is light, then have someone support it while you remove the hinge. Note how the old bearing sits before lifting it out, fit the new one the same way and refit the door. Check the door closes by itself from partly open and that the seal touches the cabinet evenly all round.

Questions about this part

How do I tell if I need the left or right bearing?

Stand in front of the fridge and look at which side the door hinges on. A door hinged on the left generally takes a left hand bearing. If the door has been reversed at some stage, go by the side it hinges on now.
