What the main PCB does in a Westinghouse WBE fridge
The main PCB is the brain of the fridge. It reads the temperature sensors, decides when the compressor and fans should run, drives the defrost cycle and talks to the display. When it fails, the symptoms can be confusing. The fridge may stop cooling while the light still works, the freezer may ice up because defrost never starts, the display may flash or show a fault, or nothing may happen at all. Swapping the fridge control board
Turn the fridge off at the wall and pull the plug before opening any covers. Photograph the board and every connector in place, then move the plugs across one at a time so nothing ends up in the wrong socket. Handle the new board by its edges to avoid static damage. Once it is in, power up and allow several hours for the cabinet to pull down to temperature before judging the repair.
