Product details
This genuine Electrolux thermocouple, part 140009086095, is the 750mm flame failure sensor used on Electrolux group gas cooking appliances. Electrolux makes thermocouples in several lengths, and length matters here, as it must reach from the burner to the gas valve without strain. We don't have a model list for this one, so match the part number or measure your old thermocouple before ordering. Fitting is a job for a licensed gas fitter.
Gas burner won't stay lit? The thermocouple is the usual cause
A thermocouple is a safety device. Its tip sits in the burner flame and produces a tiny voltage when hot. That voltage holds a magnet in the gas valve open. If the flame goes out, the tip cools, the magnet releases and the gas shuts off. When a thermocouple fails, the burner lights while you hold the knob in but goes out as soon as you let go. Slow response, a burner that drops out after a few minutes and a bent or burnt tip are other signs. A dirty tip can cause the same problem, so clean it before replacing the part.

Fitting a gas thermocouple
In Australia, work on gas appliances must be done by a licensed gas fitter. The gas supply is turned off at the isolation valve and the appliance unplugged before the cooktop is opened. The old lead is unscrewed from the gas valve and burner bracket, and the new one routed the same way, clear of hot surfaces and without tight kinks. The fitter then checks for leaks and confirms the burner holds its flame.
Questions about this part
Can I use a shorter or longer thermocouple?
It's best not to. Too short and it won't reach the valve, too long and the extra lead has to be coiled where it may get hot. Match the 750mm length and the part number, or ask through the parts enquiry form.
