The regulator steadies the gas supply so the burners receive a consistent pressure, and the built-in test point lets a gas fitter check that pressure without adding extra fittings. It's for natural gas only, so it isn't suitable for an appliance running on LPG.
Gas cooktop flames too high, too low or uneven
If the regulator fails or drifts, burner pressure no longer holds steady. Flames may lift off the burner ports or roar when the pressure is too high, or look weak and struggle to stay lit when it's too low, especially with several burners going at once. Simmer settings can become unreliable and wok burners may lose heat. Because a gas fitter can read the pressure at the integrated test point, it's quick to confirm whether the regulator is holding its setting or needs replacing.

In Australia, only a licensed gas fitter may install this part. The gas is turned off at the main supply or the appliance isolation valve before the old regulator comes out. After fitting, the installer leak tests every joint, sets and confirms the operating pressure at the test point against the appliance data plate, and checks each burner lights cleanly.

Can I use this on an LPG cooktop?
No. This regulator is for natural gas only. LPG appliances are set up differently and a natural gas regulator must not be used on them, so check the gas type on your appliance's data plate and ask us about the correct LPG part.
