Ariston fan oven cold or slow to heat?
With a failed round element, the oven fan still turns and the light still works, but the oven stays cool or takes far longer than usual to reach temperature on fan modes. Settings that use the top or bottom elements may still heat normally, which narrows the fault down. Look for breaks, swelling or scorch marks on the element. An element that has shorted to earth can trip the safety switch as soon as the oven is turned on.

Changing the round element
Switch the oven off at the circuit breaker. As most ovens are hard-wired, Australian rules require a licensed electrician for the electrical work. Remove the oven racks and the fan cover, undo the element screws and ease it forward to reach the terminals. Photograph the connections, fit the new element and test it on a fan forced setting.
