Dryer vent grille broken or missing?
A vented dryer blows warm, damp air and fine lint out through an exhaust outlet. The outer grille covers that opening, guiding the airflow out and keeping fingers and larger objects away from the outlet. Grilles turn brittle with heat and can crack, snap their clips or go missing when a venting kit is fitted or removed. A broken grille leaves the outlet exposed and the airflow poorly directed, and it looks untidy too. While it's off, clean any lint out of the outlet, as restricted airflow makes a dryer slow and hot.

Fitting the vent grille
Unplug the dryer and let it cool before working near the exhaust. Remove any venting hose or adaptor from the outlet, then release the old grille or what's left of it. Line up the new grille with the outlet and press or clip it into place until it's secure. Clear any lint from around the outlet before refitting the venting kit and running a test.
