Simpson front loader door won't open? Check the handle
The handle is what you pull to open the porthole door. Pulling it works the latch inside the door so the door hook can come free of the lock. Years of daily use take a toll on the plastic, and a handle that has cracked or worn at its pivot will flap loosely, feel spongy or break off completely. If the cycle has finished and the lock has released but the door still won't open when you pull, the handle and its latch are the first things to look at. Fitting a new porthole handle
Turn the machine off at the power point before you start. On most front loaders the handle is reached by taking the door off its hinge and separating the inner and outer door frames, so work on a towel to protect the glass. Snap a photo of the old handle and latch before removing them. Fit the new handle the same way round, reassemble the door and test that it opens and latches cleanly.
