Electrolux front loader not filling or overfilling
Two solenoids on this valve open in turn to send water through the detergent drawer, while the flowmeter measures the water passing through so the control knows how much has gone in. If a coil fails, the machine may not fill at all, may leave powder or liquid behind in the drawer, or may stop with an inlet fault. A faulty flowmeter can upset the fill, giving too little or too much water. Leaks from the valve body, or a valve that won't close fully, are also reasons to replace it.

Changing the inlet valve
Unplug the machine, turn off the tap and remove the inlet hose. The valve usually sits under the top panel at the back. Photograph the wiring plugs and the hoses running to the detergent drawer before removing them, then unclip or unscrew the valve. Fit the new valve, reconnect everything exactly as it was, and run a short wash to check it fills properly and doesn't leak.
