It also carries the number 246037200. It's listed for Baumatic, Linea, Technika and Whirlpool ovens. Baumatic's BA896SS and BAO9010 appear on the list, as does the Technika T948SS, and so do models like the TB90F, MCT948SS-2 and SAMF09SS.

Fixing an oven door that falls open or won't shut

Every time the door opens, its full weight hangs on the hinges, and a spring in each one pulls it back against the seal. Daily use weakens that spring and wears the hinge arm, so the door may drop suddenly, refuse to stay shut, sit crooked or show a visible gap at the top. That gap lets heat escape, which slows cooking and warms up the knobs and benchtop around the oven. A hinge can also bend if someone leans on or rests weight on an open door.

Part details

Genuine part 1260000079

Also listed as 246037200

Sold as a single hinge

Suits Baumatic, Linea, Technika and Whirlpool ovens, 17 models on file

Quantity

Single hinge

Fitting a single hinge

With the oven off and cool, open the door fully and secure the hinge levers so the springs stay locked while the door is off.
