Product details

Part 12590090 is the cooling fan used in a range of Blanco, ILVE and Omega ovens, and this listing is a generic compatible version rather than a brand-made part. The fan keeps the controls and outer panels cool while the oven runs. Sixty-eight models are on file, including Blanco BOSE651X, BOSE67XP and BOSE69X ovens, the NPO60, NPO75 and NPO90, and the Omega OO651XN, OO671XN and OO761XA.

Oven cooling fan noisy or not running?

A cooling fan draws air across the top of the oven and pushes it out through a vent above the door. That airflow protects the electronics, switches and wiring from the heat of the cavity, and keeps the door and surrounding cabinetry cooler. As the bearings wear, the fan gets noisy, rattling or squealing, and eventually it slows or stops. A failed cooling fan can lead to hot control knobs, a hot cabinet front, display faults, or the oven shutting down on its thermal cut-out. Many ovens keep this fan running for a while after cooking finishes.

Fitting the cooling fan

Isolate the oven at the switchboard and have a licensed electrician fit the fan, as ovens are hard-wired. The oven normally has to come out of the cabinet and the top cover removed. Photograph the fan wiring and the position of any air ducts before taking anything apart. Once fitted, run the oven and confirm the fan starts and air flows from the vent.
