Dryer drum not turning? The drive belt is the usual suspect
In a dryer the belt wraps right around the drum and back to the motor pulley, so it turns the whole load every cycle. If the motor runs and you can feel heat but the clothes come out wet and unmoved, a snapped belt is the first thing to check. A worn belt usually gives warnings first: a slapping or thudding sound as a frayed section passes the pulley, squealing when the dryer starts, or a drum that stalls with a heavy load. Some dryers also have a belt switch that stops the motor when the belt breaks, so the dryer may simply not start.

Fitting the new belt
Unplug the dryer before removing the panels. Loop the belt around the drum with the ribbed side facing in, lining it up with the track left by the old belt. Then thread it around the tension pulley and onto the motor pulley as shown in your service guide or a photo taken beforehand. Turn the drum by hand to check the belt tracks straight before closing up.
