Blanco oven grill not working? Signs of a failed element
The grill element sits in the roof of the oven and heats by radiation, browning and grilling food directly below it. In some ovens it also helps with top heat on certain functions. When it burns out, the grill stays cold, or the element may glow in patches only. Look for a blister, split or burnt spot on the sheath, a broken terminal, or a tripped safety switch when the grill is turned on. A continuity test with a multimeter confirms an open circuit element.

Fitting the grill element
Turn the oven off at the isolating switch or circuit breaker before you start. Most built-in ovens are hard-wired, and on those an element replacement should be done by a licensed electrician. Photograph the terminal connections, release the element's fixing screws and ease it out. Connect the new element the same way, refit the screws and test the grill.
