ILVE oven modes not working?
Each setting on the mode knob relies on the selector switch routing power to a particular set of elements and the fan. Arcing gradually burns the contacts inside, so some positions stop working or work only now and then. Typical complaints are an oven that heats on one setting but stays cold on another, a fan that runs on the wrong setting, a light that stays on, or a burning plastic smell from behind the control panel. Fitting the switch
ILVE ovens and cookers are hard-wired and some also run on gas, so have a licensed electrician do this job, plus a licensed gas fitter if any gas parts are disturbed. Isolate the power at the switchboard first. Label each wire with its terminal marking before removing the old switch, fit the new one in the same orientation and test every function before refitting the panel trim.
