It's on file for the OO757X, three OO761 versions ending in XA, XN and XR, the OO971XN and OO986X, plus the BOSE97X, BOM9 and AOM9SE1. If your oven heats on some functions but not others, or the knob feels loose and gritty, this switch is worth checking.

Faults that point to a failed oven selector switch

Inside the switch are sets of contacts that close in different combinations as you turn the knob, sending power to the elements, fan and light as each function needs. Heat from the oven and arcing as the contacts open and close slowly wear them out. Look for functions that have stopped working, an element that comes on when it shouldn't, a light or fan that stays on, or a burning smell from the control panel. Melted or blackened terminals on the switch confirm the diagnosis.

Part details

Genuine part 12540260

Multi function oven selector switch

Suits Blanco and Omega ovens

Listed for Omega OO757X, OO761, OO971XN and OO986X ovens

Also listed for the BOSE97X, the BOM9 and the AOM9SE1

Switch replacement tips

Turn the oven off at the circuit breaker and wait for it to cool. Most built-in ovens are hard-wired, so this job is one for a licensed electrician. Take clear photos of the terminal positions and wire colours before disconnecting anything, and replace any brittle or burnt spade terminals. Check every function heats correctly before the oven goes back into the cabinet.

Questions about this part

Is this the original switch for Omega ovens?

Yes, 12540260 is the genuine selector switch listed for Omega OO757X, OO761, OO971XN and OO986X ovens, as well as the Blanco BOSE97X.
