Dishwasher leaking from the door

The main door seal runs around the tub opening and presses against the inner door when it closes, keeping water and steam in during the wash. Over time the rubber hardens, flattens, tears or comes out of its channel, and food grease speeds that up. Signs include water on the floor under the door, a wet kickboard, steam escaping at the top corners and mould or black build-up on the seal. Check that the dishwasher is level and the door closes firmly too, as either can cause similar leaks.

Fitting the main door seal

Turn the dishwasher off at the wall. Pull the old seal out of its channel and clean the channel well, removing any grease or residue. Start the new seal where the old one began, press it in evenly without stretching it, and work around the tub. Close the door to check it seals all the way round, then run a cycle and look for drips.
