How the Aquastop hose guards against leaks

Aquastop is the BSH leak protection system. A valve in the housing at the tap end can shut the supply off right at the tap if a leak is picked up, instead of letting water run onto the floor. This version also carries a flow sensor that tells the electronics how much water is coming in. When the hose fails, the washer may refuse to fill, show a water supply or Aquastop fault, or stop with water lying in the base. Fitting the new Aquastop hose

Close the tap and unplug the machine first. This hose is wired into the washer, so the old one has to be disconnected inside the cabinet as well as at the tap. Photograph the routing and plug positions before unclipping anything. Screw the valve housing onto the tap by hand, open the tap slowly and watch every joint for drips through the first fill.
