10HZB3000 is a genuine Bromic gas heater hose, 3 metres long, with a 3/8 inch fitting on one end and a bayonet connector on the other. The 3/8 inch is the small size, and Bromic also makes a larger 1/2 inch version, so check the fitting on your heater before ordering. It's for connecting a gas heater to a bayonet gas point.

When to replace a gas heater hose

A gas hose flexes, gets stepped on and spends time in sun, cold and dust, so it doesn't last forever. Replace it if the outer cover is cracked, kinked, swollen or chafed, if the bayonet end doesn't lock in firmly, or if you smell gas near the hose or its fittings. A soapy water test on the connections, with the gas on and the heater off, will show a leak as bubbles. Never use a damaged gas hose or try to tape over a leak. Swap it for a new hose of the right size and length.

Connecting the heater hose

Turn the heater off and make sure the bayonet point is closed before you start. In Australia, gas connections should be fitted or checked by a licensed gas fitter. Tighten the 3/8 inch fitting at the heater end with the correct spanner, then push the bayonet into the gas point until it locks. Leak test every joint with soapy water before lighting the heater, and keep the hose clear of hot surfaces.
