Replacing a worn four sided oven door seal
A four sided seal runs around every edge of the oven opening and is held by hooks that push into holes in the oven front. The door closes against it to stop heat escaping. Over time the seal goes hard and brittle, flattens out or tears, and hooks can snap off. When that happens you may see heat haze or steam coming out around the door, find the outside of the oven or the knobs getting hot, and notice meals taking longer to cook.

Check the hook positions before fitting
This seal has an extra hook in the middle of the top section. If your oven has no matching hole there, you may need to drill one, taking care not to damage anything behind the oven front. Isolate power to the oven and let it cool before you start. Unhook the old seal, compare its size and hook positions with the new one, then push each hook firmly into place and close the door to check the seal sits evenly.
