Bosch washing machine drum not spinning?
Carbon brushes press against the commutator on the motor and carry current into the spinning armature. They're designed to wear away slowly, and after enough wash cycles they become too short to make good contact. The washer then fills and drains but the drum barely turns, moves in short bursts or won't spin at all. You might also smell burning or see sparks through the motor vents as the brushes run out. If one brush is worn to a stub, replace both.

Replacing the motor brushes
Unplug the washer and turn off both taps before tilting or opening it. The motor sits under the drum and, depending on the model, is reached through the back panel or from underneath. Photograph the wiring, unclip each old brush holder and fit the new brushes the same way round. Spin the motor by hand to check it turns freely, then run a short wash to bed them in.
