Product details
10016358 is a genuine BSH nut for a spark plug, the ignition electrode that lights a gas burner. On Bosch, Siemens and Neff gas cooktops a nut like this typically holds the electrode in place in the burner base. If the old nut is cracked, lost or seized, the electrode can sit loose and spark in the wrong spot. No models are on file, so check the number on your parts diagram.
Gas burner not lighting reliably?
The spark plug needs to sit at a precise gap from the burner cap so its spark jumps to the right point. If the retaining nut is missing or loose, the electrode can twist, drop or move away from the burner, and the burner clicks without lighting or only lights after several attempts. Sparking from under the cooktop instead of at the burner, or an electrode that wobbles when touched, are other signs. A cracked ceramic electrode is a separate fault, so inspect it while you're there.

Fitting the spark plug nut
Turn off the gas and isolate the power before lifting the cooktop. Australian rules require gas appliance work to be done by a licensed gas fitter. Remove the burner parts, reach under to the electrode, and fit the new nut snugly without overtightening, as the ceramic can crack. Check the spark lands in the right place before refitting.
Questions about this part
Do I need a gas fitter to replace this nut?
Reaching the nut means lifting the cooktop and working near the gas supply, so a licensed gas fitter should do the work in Australia. They can also check the electrode, lead and ignition module at the same time.
