Genuine Belling knob 083240904, also known as 083000906, is the control knob used on the electric controls of Belling cookers. It is listed for the FSE60AU, FSE60MF, FSE60MFB, FSE60MFS and FSE60IS, the FSE61IS, the FSI60MFTB and FSI60MFTS, and the FSDF60DO. The part is for electric controls only, so it isn't meant for gas burner taps.
Belling cooker knob cracked or slipping
The knob fits over the shaft of a switch or thermostat and lets you set the oven temperature, function or hotplate level. Inside is a shaped socket that grips the flat on the shaft. Heat from the cooktop, spills and cleaning products slowly make the plastic brittle, so the socket splits and the knob spins without turning the control, or the knob cracks and falls off. Worn markings can also make it hard to see what a control is set to, which is a real concern on a hot cooker.

Fitting the knob
Make sure every control is off and the cooker has cooled. Pull the old knob straight off its shaft. If it's stuck, slide a cloth behind it and ease it forward evenly rather than levering against the panel. Line the socket up with the flat on the shaft, push the new knob on firmly and check the pointer reads off.
