Replace a cracked, worn or missing control knob with genuine Belling part 083240900, a black and chrome knob that is also listed as 083000900. It is used on Belling ovens and cooktops. Models on file include the BI60GS and BI60FGS, the BI70GSNG and BI90GS, and the FSG61TCFSNG and FSG54TCFSLPG, along with the FSDF60DOS and FSE61IS. Broken or slipping Belling knob?
Each knob slides onto the shaft of a gas valve, thermostat or switch, and the shaped hole inside grips the flat on the shaft so turning the knob turns the control. Heat, cleaning sprays and years of use wear that grip or split the plastic. A knob that spins without moving the control, falls off, or has lost its markings makes the cooker awkward and less safe to use. On gas controls, a knob you cannot turn firmly makes it hard to set the flame and shut the burner off properly.

Fitting the knob
Make sure all burners and the oven are off and the cooktop is cool. Pull the old knob straight off its shaft, without twisting or levering against the panel. Line up the flat inside the new knob with the flat on the shaft and push it on firmly. If a gas control feels stiff or will not return to off, stop using it and have a licensed gas fitter check the valve.
