Belling fan oven not cooking evenly? Check the fan motor
In fan forced and multifunction modes this motor spins a blade at the back of the oven, pushing hot air around the cavity so every shelf cooks at the same rate. When the motor fails the fan may stop altogether, turn slowly, hum without moving, or grind and rattle as worn bearings drag. Food burns in hot spots or stays pale on some shelves, and preheating takes longer than it used to. With the power off, check that the fan turns freely by hand, then listen for noise when it runs.

Fitting the oven fan motor
Isolate the oven at the switchboard first. Remove the racks and the rear fan cover, then take off the fan blade to expose the motor mounting. The motor fixes through the back wall of the oven, so the oven usually has to come out of its cabinet, or the cooker pulled forward, to reach the rear. If the new motor comes without a blade, move the old one across, making sure it is straight. Hard-wired appliances must be reconnected by a licensed electrician.
