This genuine plastic light diffuser, part 03294757, covers the light on a number of rangehoods, including hoods sold under the Smeg and Electrolux names. Electrolux lists the same cover as 4055093019, and 03294794 is linked to it as well. Models on file include the K24PU and K296, the K24PU60-P and K24PU90-P, OA416, and ACA series hoods such as ACA2302 and ACA2403, along with ABA2240 and the APP2440 and APP2540.

Replacing a broken rangehood light cover

The diffuser sits over the rangehood light, spreading the glow across the cooktop and shielding the lamp from grease and steam. Being plastic, it can go brittle and yellow from heat over the years, crack when it's prised out for a globe change, or drop out and get lost. A missing cover leaves the lamp open to grease build-up and splashes, and the light becomes harsh and patchy. If your cover is cracked, discoloured or gone, this is a quick and simple swap.

Fitting the diffuser

Switch the rangehood off at the wall and let the lamp cool, as globes run hot. Ease the old diffuser out carefully, noting which way the clips face. Check the globe while the cover is off and replace it if it's dull or blackened. Line the new diffuser up with its clips and press it in until it seats evenly all round.
