Bosch washer door won't lock or won't open?
The door lock, also called the door interlock, holds the door shut while there's water in the drum or the drum is spinning, and tells the control board the door is secure. If it fails to engage, the machine won't start, may flash the door light or show an error, or may stop partway through a cycle. If it fails to release, the door stays shut after the program ends. A broken catch on the door itself can cause the same symptoms, so check the hook first.

Replacing the door lock
Unplug the washer before you start. Many Bosch machines have an emergency release cord behind the pump filter flap for a door that's stuck shut.
