Constant clicking or no spark from a Blanco cooktop

Each microswitch clips over a gas tap and is tripped by the spindle when the knob is pressed. Spills that seep down past the knobs are the usual enemy. Moisture or sticky residue inside a switch can hold it closed, so the igniters click non-stop even with every knob off, or the cooktop trips the safety switch.
