Dishwasher not draining? Check the drain pump
At the end of each wash and rinse, the drain pump forces dirty water out of the sump and up through the drain hose. When it fails you'll usually find water sitting in the bottom of the tub, the program stops part way, and the machine may flag a drain fault. A pump that hums without moving water, rattles loudly or empties the tub very slowly is another warning sign. Before replacing it, clean the filters and check under the pump cover for broken glass, seeds or other debris jamming the impeller, and make sure the drain hose isn't kinked.

Changing the drain pump
Switch the dishwasher off at the wall and turn off the tap. Sponge out any water in the sump first. The pump on these machines is generally reached from underneath, which means sliding the dishwasher out and laying it on its back on a towel. Photograph the wiring plug and how the pump twists into the sump, fit the new pump, then run a short program and check for leaks.
